Vermillion Racing

Vermilion Racing is DTU’s Formula Student team, where students design, build, and race an electric Formula Student car. The project is supported by DTU and DTU Blue Dot Project, and utilises PowerLabDK’s Power Student Lab.

Vermilion Racing – DTU’s Formula Student Team

Vermilion Racing is The Technical University of Denmark’s Formula Student team, presented by DTU Eventure. Every year, students design, build, and test an electric Formula Student race car to compete against other universities at Formula Student UK (FSUK), held at Silverstone. The project gives students hands-on experience in engineering, project management, and teamwork.

Vermillion Racing is a student-driven project started in 2018, but after a pause due to COVID-19, it was restarted in 2021 with a new team. Each year, students work on improving the car, aiming to make it more efficient and competitive. With support from DTU, Technical University of Denmark, and the DTU Blue Dot Project, Vermilion Racing continues to grow.

To build and test the car’s electrical systems, the team uses PowerLabDK’s Power Student Lab. Here, students can work with real energy components and test control solutions in a safe and professional environment. The lab provides access to tools and facilities that help improve the car’s performance before it hits the track.

Join the team

Vermilion Racing is open to all DTU students who want to work on a real engineering project. Whether you’re interested in mechanical design, electronics, or project management, there’s a place for you on the team.
